MONTALBANO The Montalbano area covers 16,000 hectares in an area between the Provinces of Florence, Pistoia and Prato. The dominating hillside landscape presents vineyards that are still grown close to the ground and in some terraced areas. There are olive grove covering the highest slopes and chestnut woods at the peaks, typical example of vegetation brought into the area. The Montalbano area is particularly well suited for hiking and excursions over a vast network of foot and bicycle paths that reach the hillside towns set into the greenery.
